The automobile industry, whether it is the one with two wheels or four wheels, is getting its act together quickly to try and switch to cleaner fuel sources at the earliest and a lot of this actually has to de with economic concerns than ecologic outlook. Automobile makers have realized that their over-reliance on fossil fuel can cause severe damage to their investments due to the serious fluctuations in the price of crude oil in international market. Suzuki has been investing in ‘Intelligent Energy’ since many years now and that partnership has now gotten stronger.
Suzuki has just announced a further investment in Intelligent Energy’s fuel cell development, taking the Japanese company one step closer to an actual product powered by hydrogen. Suzuki did showcase the Crosscage concept bike which carried the Intelligent Energy fuel cell technology, but the actual production version is still long way away. While many concepts have come and gone in the past few years, one hopes that this partnership will speed up the process towards a future that will be driven on hydrogen fuel cell powered bikes.
